TERMS OF SERVICE

These terms apply to use of holdr.co.nz and all services provided by Holdr ("Holdr", "we", "us"). By using our site or services, you agree to these terms.
1. WHO WE ARE
Holdr is a New Zealand-based trading card assessment and trading service operated by Glen Jones, trading as Holdr.

2. OUR SERVICES
Holdr provides:
- Card Assessment Reports (pre-grading inspection and documentation)
- SafeTrade (escrow/middleman service for private TCG trades)
- Free Trade Verification (peer-to-peer verification links)
- Consignment selling of trading cards
- Sale of trading cards (when available)
3. CARD CUSTODY
When you ship a card to Holdr for any service, you remain the legal owner of that card. Holdr acts as a bailee (custodian). While in our possession we will:
- Store your card securely at our facility
- Return it to you, or to the agreed recipient, upon completion of the service
We do not currently provide specific custodial insurance for cards held at Holdr. If you wish to insure high-value cards while they are in our care, please arrange this independently before shipping.
You are responsible for shipping the card to us safely. We recommend tracked, signed-for postage.
4. ASSESSMENTS ARE OPINIONS
Holdr Verified assessment reports represent our best professional opinion based on visual and digital inspection. They are NOT official grades from PSA, BGS, CGC, PCG, or any other grading authority. We make no guarantee that an assessed card will receive any particular grade from any grading company.
5. CARD SALES & CONDITION VERIFICATION
Every card sold from the Holdr shop ships with a Holdr Verified pre-grading report. The report and listing photos are the canonical record of the card's condition at dispatch. By purchasing, you agree that any subsequent return claim will be assessed against this report.
6. PRICING & PAYMENT
All prices are in NZD and include GST where applicable. Invoices are issued via Shopify and must be paid before services begin (or before a card is returned, in the case of consignment withdrawal).
7. CONSIGNMENT
If you list a card with Holdr via the consignment service, you authorise us to display, market, and sell the card at the price you set. Holdr takes a tiered commission on sale: 20% under NZD $200, 15% under NZD $500, 10% at NZD $500 and above. You retain ownership of the card until it sells.
8. SAFETRADE
SafeTrade is a middleman/escrow service. Holdr is not a party to the trade. We verify that both cards match the agreed-upon condition before forwarding them to each party. If either party disputes the condition, we will hold both cards until the dispute is resolved.
9. PROHIBITED USE
You agree not to:
- Use our services to launder counterfeit cards, stolen goods, or items obtained through fraud
- Misrepresent the identity, ownership, or condition of cards submitted to us
- Use our site to harass, threaten, or defame others
- Submit a return request for a card whose condition has changed since dispatch
10. LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the value of the fees paid for that service. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986.
11. PRIVACY
We collect and handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 2020.
12. CHANGES
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date indicates when the most recent change was made. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance.
13. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
