About Holdr
Auckland, NZ

Hi, I'm Glen โ€” founder of Holdr.

I started Holdr in Auckland because the trading card market in New Zealand needed something better. Buying and selling cards online means trusting strangers with high-value gear. Condition gets described in vague terms. Trades go sideways. People get burned. Holdr exists to fix that.

Why this works

Process beats opinion.

Before Holdr I spent over a decade in sales operations and revenue systems work at SaaS companies. Different industry, same principles.

What I learned: rigorous processes beat ad-hoc effort. Consistent criteria beat opinion. Accurate data beats vibes. The same applies to trading cards โ€” maybe more so, because the dollar values are real and the trust is fragile.

Every card I assess for a customer gets the same scrutiny I apply to my own collection. Same calibrated photography. Same microscope inspection. Same UV authentication. Same measurement criteria. No favouritism, no shortcuts, no exceptions.

What I stand for

Three things I won't compromise on.

I've watched what happens when card businesses optimise for transactions over relationships. I'm choosing the harder path.

๐Ÿค

Honesty over hype

Assessments tell you the truth โ€” even when the truth is your card isn't worth grading. I'd rather lose the assessment fee than help you make a $300 mistake on a submission that comes back a 7.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

Real documentation

Microscope imaging, calibrated measurements, UV authentication. Every report follows the same consistent process so you can compare cards meaningfully โ€” not vague descriptions of "minor whitening."

Built and operated in NZ

Holdr operates from Auckland Central. Cards are received, assessed, and returned from a single location. No overseas processing. No opaque grading queue. NZ Post tracked, always.
